Gautam Kumar, known to a social worker yesterday lodged a case against Barrister Sayedul Haque Suman on charge of making derogatory remarks about the Hindu religion.
Gautam, who hails from the city’s Bhashantek area, filed the case with Dhaka Cyber Tribunal. Judge As Shams Jaglul Hossain of the court recorded the depositions of Gautam and earlier, he took cognizance of the case.
The judge directed the Officer-in-Charge of
Bhasantek Police Station to investigate the matter and submit a probe report within 30 days.
In the complaint, Gautam said Barrister Suman on July 19 gave a Facebook status demeaning the Hindu religion. Suman made “false and objectionable” statement on Hindu religion, Gautam Kumar said.
Meanwhile, Barrister Sumon said that the post was given from a fake identity using his name.
