The High Court (HC) Division of the Supreme Court on Thursday granted bail to BNP standing committee member Barrister Rafiqul Islam Miah in arson case.
A HC bench comprising Justice Md Shawkat Hossain and Justice K M Kamrul Kader passed the order after the hearing.
Barrister Ragib Rouf Chowdhury representing the BNP standing committee member Rafiqul Islam Miah said, now there is no bar to release his client as the apex court granted
bail to him in all the cases pending against him.
Barrister Rafiqul Islam Miah are facing the cases filed against him with Mirpur, Jatrabari, Motijheel and Pallabi police stations under explosive and Special Power Acts during the blockades enforced by BNP-led 20-party alliance after January 5 general election.
Earler, the HC granted bail to Rafiqul Islam Miah in five cases on June 5 and seven cases on May 31. He got bail in 15 other cases from the trial court.
