A new Gold Medal titled ‘Barrister Nora Sharif Gold Medal’ has been introduced at the Department of Law of Dhaka University (DU).
Sultan Mohammad Sharif, husband of late Barrister Nora Sharif has donated money to DU authorities to introduce the gold medal. Mohammad Moshiur Rahaman Khan, colloq of Sultan Mohammad Sharif handed over a cheque for Taka six lakh to DU Treasurer Prof Md Kamal Uddin on Monday at the Vice-Chancellor’s office. Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University Prof Dr AAMS Arefin Siddique, Dean of the Faculty of Law Prof Taslima Monsoor, other faculty members and relatives of the donor were present on this occasion.
Out of the income of this donation, every year one meritorious student who will secure the highest CGPA in LLB final examination from the Department of Law of DU will be awarded ‘Barrister Nora Sharif Gold Medal’. Besides, two poor but meritorious female students of the department will be given scholarships.
