Barrister Sayadul Hasan Iqbal was nominated new Chairman of Bangladesh Islamic Party, a partner of BNP-led 20-party alliance. The decision was taken at a joint meeting of the party at its office in the city recently.
Islamic Party’s Vice Chairman Md Ezaz Hossain presided over the meeting while the party leaders Advocate Sheikh Nazim Uddin, AKM Shahjahan Chowdhury, Abu Taher Chowdhury, Md Abul Quashem, Hafez Shahidul Islam and Md Habibur Rahman attended it, among others.
Advocate Abdul Mobin, father of Barrister Iqbal, had been performing the charge of the party’s Chairman. He died on May 7. The joint meeting expressed condolence at the death of Abdul Mobin.
