Known as the model of integrity, Barishal LGED Deputy Assistant Engineer Hafizur Rahman has received the Jatiya `Shuddhachar Award’. For his honesty-skills and diligence in performing his professional duties, the LGED headquarters has awarded him the National `Shuddhachar Award’.
It is like a new light bulb rising from a dark tunnel. Surprisingly, this very shy and cold-tempered man is the first among thousands of sub-assistant engineers in his office in Bangladesh to win such a big prize in an honesty competition, but he is averse to publicity.
Deputy Assistant Engineer Hafizur Rahman told this correspondent that he was able to win the `Shuddhachar Award’ due to the beautiful working environment of his office and the co-operation of his colleagues. So he dedicated this award to the LGED family. According to sources, in order to build the golden Bangladesh of dreams, the government has introduced a law to stop corruption in the organization as well as an honesty award for honest and skilled people in the workplace. According to the `Shuddhachar Award’ Policy, this time the LGED headquarters started the journey of this first `Shuddhachar Award’. Engineer Hafizur Rahman was awarded the `Shuddhachar Award’ in recognition of his ability to perform 19 types of responsibilities in the competition including knowledge, skills, integrity and diligence in performing his professional duties.
In the presence of all the Additional Chief Engineers, Project Directors, Executive Engineers, Deputy Directors and officials at various levels in the auditorium of LGED Headquarters, Department of Local Government Engineering Chief Engineer Abdur Rashid Khan formally handed over the memento and check to him as a 2020-21 `Shuddhachar Award’.
Deputy Assistant Engineer Hafizur Rahman (Sajal) said that, the Shuddhachar Award is a discipline of the Prime Minister. The aim of the government is to make us all better. So he has arranged rewards for good deeds and reprimands for bad deeds.
Our Hon’ble LGRD Minister is also giving us this song in various meetings. So the Integrity Award is not just for me, but for everyone in the LGED family. Because I got a good working environment with the help of my office colleagues who were performing their professional duties.
That is why I have dedicated my award to the LGED family. Barisal LGED Executive Engineer Sharif Md. Jamal Uddin is proud of Deputy Assistant Engineer Hafizur Rahman Sajal, of his office, for winning the Integrity Award. Besides, I am giving the opportunity to my colleagues to work smoothly. He said that, their commitment has improved the quality of construction in rural road communication system and infrastructure development.
