After ending date of withdrawing nomination papers on Sunday afternoon, two AL candidates remained in race for chairmanship in Barisal Zila Parishad election.
Besides, 5 out of 41 general members and 3 out of 7 members for reserved female seats declared as uncontested.
Election would be held for rest one chairman, 36 general members and 4 reserved for female-member seats of 49-seated Barisal Zila Parishad.
Humayun Kabir, Assistant Returning Officer and Sadar upazila Election Officer, declaring these facts, said 2 out of 4 candidates for chairman post named Golam Faruk and Hossain Chowdhury withdrawn their nomination papers on Saturday.
So rest two Khan Altaf Hossain Vulu and Maidul Islam remained in the race for chairmanship of Barisal Zila Parishad.
Besides, Ranjit Samaddar, H M Harunor Rashid, Dalilur Rahman Shikdar, Shahidul Islam Khan and H M Jamal Hossain remained uncontested for 41 general member posts.
On other hand Piyara Begum, Iyrin Reza and Urmila Baroi remained uncontested in 7 seats reserved for female members.
