Barisal University decides to introduce “Bangabandhu Chair”

It has been decided to introduce “Bangabandhu Chair” in Barisal University in the name of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the Father of the Nation, the architect of great independence.
The decision was taken unanimously at the 7th meeting of the University Syndicate held September 13.
The meeting was chaired by the Vice-Chancellor of the University, Prof. Md. Sadequl Arefin. A four-member committee has been formed to formulate policies for the introduction of the “Bangabandhu Chair” in the university.
The convener of the committee, Professor. Md. Sadequl Arefin, Vice-Chancellor, Barisal University, Member. Amitabh Sarkar, Divisional Commissioner (Additional Secretary), Barisal Division, Member Mr. Supravhat Haldar, Assistant Professor, Law Department, Barisal University, and Member-Secretary Prof. Dr. Md. Muhsin Uddin, Register (Additional Responsibilities) Barisal University.
Through the establishment of “Bangabandhu Chair”, this initiative has been taken to promote research and academic activities related to Bangabandhu’s life, work, political philosophy, liberation war, and socio-economic development of Bangladesh. The meeting expressed hope that the activities of “Bangabandhu Chair” would start within the current Mujib year.
