Barisal Nursing College students demand up-gradation of service status

Nurses working at Barisal Sher E Bangla Medical College Hospital and studying at Nursing Training College formed a human chain with a rally in front of Ashwini Kumar Hall on Thursday morning to press home their demand of service status upgradation.
The programme was jointly organised by Bangladesh Basic Graduate Nurses Society (BBGNS), Bangladesh Intern Nurses Association (BINA) and Bangladesh Basic Graduate Nurses Association (BBGNA).
The programme was addressed by Ataur Rahman, Shampa Boidya, Shima Haldar, Suborna Mandal, Reshma Aktar and others.
The one-point demand was employment of the four-year BSc nursing degree holders as graduate nursing-officers with first class non-gazetted status by enacting and moderinising employment rules and regulations.
Speakers of the rally said that it was the only demands of nursing students studying at both public and private nursing colleges.
The speakers and participants of the programmes also demanding sufficient safety, security and professional dignity at the working place cautioned more hard movements if their demands would be ignored.
