Barisal Bulls lose to Chittagong Vikings

Barisal Bulls lost to Chittagong Vikings by 78 runs in their match of the AKS Bangladesh Premier League Twenty20 Cricket at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chittagong on Tuesday.
Electing to bat first, Chittagong Vikings piled up a mammoth total of 185 for the loss of five wickets in the stipulated 20 overs.
In reply, Barisal Bulls were all out for 107 off 18.4 overs.
Enamul Haque (Junior) of Barisal Bulls fought back against tight and controlled bowling attack of the bowlers of Chittagong Vikings.
Enamul Haque remained unbeaten with 42. His 37-ball plucky innings was decorated with four sixes and one four.
Mohammad Nabi of Chittagong Vikings grabbed three wickets at the cost of 16 runs, while Subashis Roy and Taskin Ahmed bagged a pair of wickets each for 16 and 20 runs respectively.
Besides, Shoaib Malik and Imran Khan took one wicket each instead of 15 and 24 runs respectively.
Chittagong Vikings made a solid start as Tamim Iqbal and Dwayne Smith, the two openers of Chittagong added 43 runs before Tamim Iqbal (19) was caught by Abu Hider off Kanrul Islam Rabbi.
Then Smith and Anamul Haque put on together 39 runs in the second wicket stand before Anamul Haque (11) was caught at the cover by Dawid Malan off Thisara Perera when Chittagong’s score was 82 for the loss of two wickets.
After departure of Anamul Haque, Smith and Shoaib Malik added together 47 runs for the third wicket partnership before Smith was caught at the deep mid-wicket by Enamul Haque (Junior) off Thisara Perera when Chittagong’s total was 129 for the loss of three wickets.
Dwayne Smith top-scored with 69. His 49-ball innings was ornamented with three sixes and six fours.
Shoaib Malik also shone with the willow. He hammered a windy 63 from 30 balls featuring nine fours and two sixes.
Later, Shoaib Malik and Jahurul built another notable partnership. They contributed 45 runs for the fifth wicket stand before Shoaib was caught at the long-off by Abu Hider off Rayed Emrit when Chittagong’s innings came to an end.
Kamrul Islam Rabbi and Thisara Perera of Barisal Bulls got two wicket each conceding 29 and 37 runs respectively.
Shoaib Malik of Chittagong Vikings was adjudged the Man of the Match for his all-round performance.
