Sports Reporter :Barisal Bulls beat Dhaka Dynamites by two wickets in their Twenty20 cricket match of the 3rd Bangladesh Premier League at the flood-lit Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Thursday.Barisal Bulls collected 14 points from 10 matches while Dhaka Dynamites bagged eight points from as many outings.Earlier, Barisal Bulls and Dhaka Dynamites confirmed their semifinals berth.Besides, Comilla Victorians and Rangpur Riders also moved into the semifinals.Batting first Dhaka Dynamites made 136 for the loss of six wickets in the allotted 20 overs.In reply, Barisal Bulls reached the winning spot making 137 for the loss of eight wickets remaining just two balls.Six-down Rayad Emrit and opener Mehedi Maruf played the key role for Barisal’s victory.Emrit remained unbeaten with 54. His 28-ball stormy innings was studded with six fours and two sixes.Mehedi Maruf made 37 from 41 balls including three fours and two sixes.Mosharraf Hossain captured three wickets at the cost of 29 runs while Nabil Samad got two wickets for 23 runs.Earlier, Dhaka Dynamites made a good start as Mohammad Hafeez and Farhad Reza, the two openers put on together 42 runs in the opening stand before Farhad Reza (19) was bowled out by Sohag Gazi.Mohammad Hafeez, the other opener was caught at the cover by Mahmudullah Riyad off Nikhil Dutta when Dhaka’s score was 47 for the loss of two wickets.Later, Mosaddek Hossain and Ryan ten Doeschate built another notable partnership. They added together 34 runs in the fifth wicket stand before Doeschate was caught at the cover by Mahmudullah Riyad off Rayad Emrit when Dhaka’s score was106 for the loss of five wickets.Mosaddek Hossain remained unbeaten with 30 while Mohammad Hafeez made 25 from 27 balls including four fours and Doeschate scored 22 off 23 balls. One-down Nasir Hossain (14) was caught at the deep mid-wicket by Suhrawardi Shuvo from a delivery of Nikhil Dutta when Dhaka’s total was 72 for the loss of four wickets.Earlier, second-down Malcolm Waller (10) was bowled out by Nikhil Dutta when Dhaka’s score was 65 for the loss of three wickets.Later, Saikat Ali (13) was bowled out by Rayad Emrit when Dhaka’s total was 127 for the loss of six wickets.Nikhil Dutta grabbed three wickets at the cost of 18 runs while Rayad Emrit bagged a pair of wickets instead of 29 runs.
