Uttar Baridhara Club tasted their first victory in the ongoing TVS Bangladesh Premier League football when they beat Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra by 2-1 goals was held on Saturday at Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani Stadium in Gopalganj.
With the day’s win, Baridhara secured four points from four matches while Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra yet to open their account playing the same number of matches.
In the day’s match, defender Arif Hossain Rimon and forward Sujan Biswas scored one goal each for Baridhara while Japanese midfielder Soma Otani netted the lone goal for Muktijoddha Sangsad KC. The match was locked goalless at the breather.
Both the teams, got several scoring chances in the first half, but they failed to break the deadlock.
After resumption, Arif finally broke the deadlock scoring the first goal for Baridhara in the 58th minute of the match and Mohammad Sujan doubled the lead scoring the second goal in the 65th minute.
Soma Otani pulled one back scoring a lone goal for Muktijoddha in the 88th minute of the match.
Baridhara dominated the proceeding, especially in the second half and notched their deserving victory on the day while the freedom fighters Muktijoddha were totally off-colored.
Baridhara will play their next match against Bangladesh Police Football Club on February 24 while Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra will face new comers Swadhinata Krira Sangha on February 25. Both the matches will be held at the same venue.
Earlier, Baridhara lost to Lieutenant Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club by 1-2 goal in their league opening match, suffered a 0-1 goal defeat to Bashundhara Kings in their second match and played out to a goalless draw with Swadhinata Krira Sangha in their third match of the league.
While Bangladesh Muktijoddha Sansad Krira Chakra lost to Dhaka Abahani Limited by 0-1 goal defeat in their league opening match, went down 0-3 to Sheikh Jamal DC and suffered a 0-1 defeat to Bashundhara Kings in their third match of the league.
