The Tuber Crops Research Centre (TCRC) of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) has arranged a day-long trainers training on “Advanced Varieties and Production Technologies of Aroids Crop”at the seminar room of the Institute on Wednesday.
Scientists from various divisions of BARI and officers from the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) participated in the training, which was funded by ‘Strengthening food and nutritional security through enrichment of gene pool, research, technological innovation and dissemination of improved varieties of aroids crop program’.
BARI Director General Dr. Debasish Sarkerinaugurated the trainers training as chief guest. BARI Director (TCRC) Dr. Sohela Akhter presided over the function while Director (Support & Services) Dr. Md. Kamrul Hasan, Director (Research) Dr. Md. Tariqul Islam and Director (Training and Communication) Dr. Ferdousi Islam were present as special guests. Chief Scientific Officer of TCRC Dr. Md. Monirul Islam gave the welcome address.The Program Director and Senior Scientific Officer of TCRC Dr. Md. Shamshul Alam highlighted various aspects of the purpose and importance of the ‘Strengthening food and nutritional security through enrichment of gene pool, research, technological innovation and dissemination of improved varieties of aroids crop program’.
