BARI holds human chain, protest rally against vandalism and desecration of Bangabandhu’s sculpture

Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) has organized a human chain and protest rally against vandalism and desecration to the sculpture of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Scientists, officers, staff and labors of BARI took part in the protest that took place in front of the main gate of the institute today (Thursday, December 17).
BARI Director General Dr. Md. Nazirul Islam, Director (Planning and Evaluation) Dr. Md. Kamrul Hasan, Director (Training and Communication) Dr. Muhammad Shamsul Alom, Chief Scientific Officer of On-Farm Research Division and President of BARI Scientists Association (BARISA) Dr. M. Akkas Ali, Chief Scientific Officer of Regional Spices Research Center, Gazipur and General Secretary of BARI Scientists Association (BARISA) Dr. Md. Shahiduzzaman, heads of the divisions, BARI Employees Welfare Society (BARIKA), BARI 4th Class Welfare Society (BARICHA), leaders of Diploma Krishibid Parishad and scientists, officials, employees and workers of all levels of the Institute participated in the protest rally.
Speakers at the human chain and protest meeting strongly condemned and protested the recent vandalism of the sculpture of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Kushtia. At the same time, they demanded the immediate arrest and exemplary punishment of all those who involved in vandalizing and insulting the sculpture of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
