Flamengo striker Gabriel Barbosa earned his first Brazil call-up for three years on Friday as head coach Tite announced a vastly changed squad for friendlies against Senegal and Nigeria.
Tite named three uncapped players in his 23-man squad – Athletico Paranaense goalkeeper Anerbar Santos, Atletico Madrid full-back Renan Lodi and Gremio midfielder Matheus Henrique.
Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus returned after missing Brazil’s friendlies against Colombia and Peru earlier this month because of suspension.
But there was no place for Real Madrid teenager Vinicius Junior, who made his international debut in the 1-0 defeat to Peru in Los Angeles. Meanwhile, his club teammate Marcelo was again overlooked by Tite, as was Tottenham Hotspur winger Lucas Moura.
