Barapukuria Coal Mine MD stand-released over graft

Engineer SM Nurul Aurangajeb, Managing Director of Barapukuria Coal Mine Company Ltd, has been stand-released on charge of corruption.
Officials and employees of the coal mine sent a letter to the Prime Minister on January 19 demanding the removal of the MD bringing allegations of irregularities, corruption and nepotism against him.
When Nurul came to know about the matter, he made over 100 staff pledge with their hands on the
Holy Quran not to reveal any information about his corruption.
After the matter came to their notice, the higher authorities took the action against him on Thursday. He was attached to the Petrobangla chairman’s office. Meanwhile, General Manager (Marketing) Engineer Habib Uddin Ahmed was made acting managing director.
