River Protection Committee held
A meeting of “River Protection Committee, Baraigram” was held at the auditorium of Upazila Nirbahi Officer in Baraigram under Natore district. It was held on last Monday and presided over by Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Anwar Parves. It was also addressed among others by Bonpara Pouro Mayor KM Jakir Hossain, Principal of Bonpara Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib Mahila Honors College Md Abdur Razzak Mollah, Senior Upazila Fishery Officer Md Zahangir Alam, Upazila Education Officer Rabindra Nath Saha, Upazila Agriculture Officer Ikbal Ahmed, UP Chairman Anisur Rahman, former UP Chairman Abu Hena Mostafa Kamal and Senior Journalist Md Saifur Rahman on river protection and conservation.
Upazila Nirbahi Officer Md Anwar Parves said, Rivers are our national properties. We should save them from possession and pollution. He also wanted help from all sectors of people to active water flow of the rivers of the upazila removing all harmful structures.
Bus Supervisor killed in Baraigram road accident
A bus-supervisor Selim Hossain (42) was killed in a road accident at Bonpara Bipas Mure of Baraigram upazila under Natore district. Selim Hossain was a supervisor of Shemoli bus and son of Mufazzal Hossain of the village Puradah of Mirpur upazila under Kustia district. Police Sergeant of Bonpara Highway thana Md Sarwar Hossain said this about the road accident. He also said, Selim Hossain went to Shemoli Bus Counter of Bonpara bipass when his bus had stopped. Then he was returning to his standing bus crossing the highway. At that time, a truck ran over crushing him. Local people recovered and took him Bonpara Amina Hospital.But the acting doctor declared him death. The killer truck has been kept under police custody. The truck driver and helper escaped leaving their vehicle.A case has been filed in this connection at Baraigram thana.
RAB-5 arrested 2 arms traders with a revolver
Rapid Action Battalion-5 (RAB) led by Natore Company CommanderASP Md Razibul Ahsan raided and arrested two arms traders Rashedul Islam (32) and Belal Bhuya (27) red handed with a revolver on last Saturday evening. Rashedul Islam is a son of Rafukul Islam and Belal Bhuya is a son of Atikur Bhuya. They are both inhabitants of the village Machgao of Baraigram upazila under Natore district. RAB arrested them from Hadismure area of the village Machgao. Primarily,they confessed that he kept the revolver in their own custody for selling immediately.
Woman held with 145 bottles of Phensidyl
Bonpara Highway Police arrested a drug trader woman Selina Khatun (40) with 145 bottles of phensidyl in Baraigram upazila under Natore district on Saturday night. Selina Khatun is a wife of Dulal Mia of the village Joydebpur under Gajipur district. Bonpara Highway Thana Police SI Abdul Khalek said, when we searched Dhaka bound Desh Travells Paribahan bus which was coming from Rajshahi, got 145 bottles of phensidyl from 3 bags and arrested the waman. After filing a case, we her to Natore jail.
