Rumours have been rife that famous Indian singer Bappi Lahiri has lost his voice due to the effects of Covid-19.
He has been confined to a wheelchair and is getting
treatment at his Juhu house for fast recovery. Many reports have revealed that they found the singer to
be uncharacteristically low in spirits, since his discharge. He has not been talking to anyone visiting him.
Bappi Lahiri’s son Bappa, who came back from Los Angeles to attend to his ailing father in April, has
assured his fans that it’s nothing but baseless rumours.
Bappa explained that his father had been advised not to talk, as he is seeking treatment for a lung ailment when
he was diagnosed with the virus. He assured that his father’s spirits are still high and that he plans on
recording a Durga Puja song with Bengali actor Rituparna Sengupta soon. Although Bappa has refuted the rumours around his father’s health, he has admitted that the virus has slowed his father down. When asked about Bappi Lahiri being confined to a wheelchair, Bappa attributes it to the knee replacement surgery that he had undergone earlier this year. The doctors had advised Bappi Lahiri to carry out the same procedure for the
other knee as well, as it has been affected pretty badly.
