The Election Commission (EC) has asked all scheduled banks to keep their branches open in Dhaka’s two city corporations’ areas on December 27 and 28 (Friday and Saturday).
The directives have been given so that the candidates can deposit their security money.
A letter, signed by EC Deputy Director M Atiar Rahman, was sent to the Senior Secretary of Banking and Financial Institution Division under the Finance Ministry on Thursday outling the instructions.
The candidates will have to submit their nomination papers by December 31.
Bangladesh Bank also issued a directive regarding this issue.
The last date of submission of nomination paper is December 31, withdrawal date is 5th January and the election will be held on January 30 in 2020.
