Banking services are not sufficient for the poor and underprivileged people, said the Finance Minister Abul Mall Abdul Muhith on Wednesday.
The minister has underscored the need for increasing more banking facilities for the poor across the country.
The minister told this to the reporters after a meeting with the Queen of the Netherlands Máxima Zorreguieta Cerrut at his secretariat office in the city.
About 40 per cent poor people are enjoying banking facilities under small category loan schemes.The government is trying to increase the facilities for the poor people.
The queen appreciated the financial inclusion programmes of the central bank, which is helping the country reduce poverty.
