The Banking Fair Bangladesh 2015 begins here on Tuesday, aiming to showcase the products and services of financial sector at national level and make general people aware about that.
Bangladesh Bank is going to organise the five-day fair on Bangla Academy compound, Bangladesh Bank chief economist Biru Paksha Paul told reporters at its conference hall on Monday.
He said Bangladesh Bank governor Dr Atiur Rahman will inaugurate the fair at 10 am on the day. Senior officials of the Finance Ministry and financial institutions will be present. Some 80 stalls from scheduled banks and financial institutions will be set up at the fair venue.
Various programmes, including exhibitions on financial and service products, seminars, debate competition and cultural functions, will be organised during the fair.
Biru Paksha said six universities will take part in the debate competition to be organised on the sidelines of the fair, the main objective of which is to reach banking and service-related information to the doorsteps of the common people.
