Bankers should have vast computer knowledge: Speakers

Speakers at a training programme said bankers should acquire knowledge on computer and ICT applications for enhancing their professional efficiency.
They said no banker can attain professional success without gaining knowledge on basic computing, banking software and proper applications. They made the observation at inaugural session of a three-day training course titled “Basic Computing and Banking Software” held here on Wednesday.
Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) organised the course at its central computer laboratory. A total of 20 officers and senior officers joined the course.
Main objective of the course was to making the mid-level bankers competent and efficient in computer software and its applications. RAKUB Managing Director Kazi Alamgir and General Manager Muzammel Haque addressed the session as chief and special guests respectively with principal of its training institute Ataur Rahman in the chair.
Deputy General Manager Ashok Kumar Acharya, Senior Faculty Member Subrata Kumar Ghosh and Course Coordinator Ahsan Ullah also spoke on the occasion.
Kazi Alamgir said large-scale promotion and application of ICT is very important for making the banking services time-fitting and client- friendly in the present era of globalisation.
