Bankers asked to expedite remittance collection

Senior bankers at a discussion asked their field level subordinate colleagues to expedite remittance collection for strengthening the foundation of banks.
They urged the bankers to adopt furthermore effective measures for boosting the remittance collection and new more qualitative and quantitative investments for bolstering the banking sector.
The instructions came at a daylong workshop titled “Motivation and Refreshers Training Program of Express Money” held at a city restaurant yesterday.
Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) and Bangladesh Krishi Bank (BKB) jointly organized the workshop in order to enhance the foreign remittance collection and transfer activities.
Around 96 bank officials from Natore, Chapainabgonj, Naogaon and host Rajshahi zones of RAKUB attended the workshop.
BKB Managing Director Ali Hossain Prodhania and RAKUB Managing Director Kazi Alamgir addressed the meeting as chief and special guests respectively with RAKUB General Manager Rafiqul Alam Chowdhury in the chair.
BKB General Manager Thakur Das Kundu, RAKUB General Manager Saidur Rahman and Deputy General Managers Shah Alam and Aminul Islam also spoke.
For the first time in its history, RAKUB has launched money transfer services around two years back for quick transferring of remittances to the beneficiaries.
