Allegations have been raised about the high-handed and illegal behaviour of recovery agents, who were trying to recover borrowed amounts on behalf of banks.
It was learnt that two borrowers were severely harassed by recovery agents in the capital’s Baridhara area recently.
One of the borrowers alleged that he had to face humiliation in front of family, friends and neighbours when recovery agents along with lawmen arrived his residence and asked for paying his dues using a hand-held loud speaker.
Local police station, however, rejected the accusation saying that they did not have any information regarding the incident.
