Police recovered the body of a bank official Wednesday from a locked-up room in Dhaka’s Keraniganj.
The deceased was identified as Lutfar Rahman, 44, an official of NCC Bank and son of Abdul Barek of Sonakhola village in Barguna’s Amtali upazila.
Keraniganj Model Police Station’s Sub-Inspector Afzalul Haque said Lutfar Rahman’s body was recovered from his room on the fourth floor of a building, next to Madaripur Mosque in West Barishur and sent to Mitford Hospital morgue for autopsy.
People of the building informed the police after getting odour from his room.
Citing Lutfar’s relatives SI Afzalul said, the deceased was a bachelor and lived alone in the room.
“Cause of the death can be ascertained upon receiving the autopsy report,” he said.
An unnatural death case was filed in this regard.
