Bank managers urged to ensure quality services to customers

High officials of Ansar-VDP Unnayan Bank urged the branch managers and fieldworkers to ensure quality services to the customers to enhance the image of the bank coupled with elevating the living and livelihood condition of the Ansar-VDP people.
They viewed emphasis should be also given to make the banking activities expedited based on the demand of time through making functions free from all sorts of traditional norms, manipulations and delaying tendency so that the clients can derive total benefits from the bank.
The specialized bank has a vital role for sustainable livelihood development of the Ansar-VDP members as they contribute a lot to the nation especially in maintaining peace, facing disaster situation and working hand-in-hand in achieving rural uplift.
They were addressing a daylong training workshop for the branch managers and fieldworkers of Rajshahi and Bogra zones of the bank held at a community center in the city yesterday.
Managing Director of the bank Mohammad Shams-ul-Islam addressed the workshop as the chief guest with Regional Manager Mijanur Rahman in the chair.
Directors Abdul Khaleque Khan and Shamima Nasrin, Deputy General Manager Tapan Kumar Shaha, Regional Manager Abdur Rahim and District Commandant of Ansar-VDP Ashraful Alam also spoke.
The speakers urged the branch managers to discharge their duties with utmost sincerity and honesty to attain the bank’s business related targets to make its position bolstered.
They asked them to put in their best efforts to bring dynamism in the banking activities and to turn all the branches into more profitable ones.
To attain the goal, he underlined the need for close monitoring and surveillance activities in the field level to intensify the credit flow and investment towards the potential sectors aimed at achieving sustainable development of Rajshahi division.
Shams-ul-Islam said Ansar-VDP force is playing an important role in women empowerment as about half of these 60 lakh members are female. The bank has been able to bring about qualitative changes in the lives of them who were leading a much marginalized economic life.
The bank had started operation aiming at poverty alleviation of nearly 5.6 million Ansar and VDP members through self-reliance. It also aimed at raising their living standard by income generating activities through credit supports.
At present, he said successful implementation of the “One house one farm integrated agriculture-credit programme” launched by the present government is being adjudged as an effective tool for creating employment opportunities and income-generation of the members of the organisation for changing their fate.
The bank has been working for increasing their savings side by side with expediting the credit- flow to the small and agriculture sector for socio-economic development of the members of a largest organisation of the country, the chief guest added.
