A man allegedly went missing in Sylhet city on Tuesday afternoon.
The missing person was Ibrahim Khalilullah, 37, security guard of the city’s Ambarkhana Branch of Al Arafah Islami Bank Limited and a resident of the area. The bank’s branch executive manager Abdul Mannan said he sent Ibrahim to deposit Tk 80,000 in his personal account with the Chowhatta Branch of South East Bank Limited and since then he remained missing.
The Kotwali police said they recovered his bicycle in an abandoned state from Chowhatta area. Kotwali police officer-in-charge Ataur Rahman said the police were not sure whether Ibrahim was abducted or was absconding intentionally. The police were investigating the incident, he added.
