Branches of the scheduled banks in the readymade garments (RMG) industrial areas will remain open on May 22 (Friday) and 23 (Saturday) for the convenience of paying the workers’ salaries.
“Branches of the scheduled banks located near garments industrial areas in Dhaka city, Tongi, Gazipur, Savar, Bhaluka, Narayanganj, and Chattogram will remain open on condition of maintaining social distancing as per the health safety guidelines to keep the export trade active amid the coronavirus outbreak,” said a Bangladesh Bank (BB) circular issued on Tuesday.
As per the circular, banks will remain open from 10am to 1pm on Friday while the transaction will be made between 10am and 12 noon.
On Saturday, banks will remain open from 10am to 3.30pm while the transaction will be made between 10am and 2.30pm.
