As a part of its corporate social responsibility, Bank Asia has provided higher studies scholarship to 39 insolvent meritorious students of Chatkhil & Sonaimuri Upazila of Noakhali and Ramgonj & Chandrogonj Upazila of Laxmipur district on Saturday.
Rumee A Hossain, Chairman of the Board Executive Committee of the Bank, handed over the scholarship money to the students at a function held at Chatkhil Upazila auditorium. Chairman of the Board Audit Committee Mohammed Lakiotullah, Director M Irfan Syed, Additional Managing Director Md. Arfan Ali, Deputy Managing Directors Mohammed Zahirul Alam & Mian Quamrul Hasan Chowdhury and Mayor of Chatkhil Pouroshova Mohammed Ullaha were, among others, present. A large number of people including students, teachers, journalists, businessmen and local elite attended the function.
It may be mentioned that Bank Asia gives scholarships for higher study to the meritorious students in the rural areas, where the Bank has branches. A total of 187 students have been selected for Bank Asia Higher Study Scholarship for the current year.
