Banglalink became the first Corporate Cricket League 2017 champion when they trounced another mobile phone operator Grameenphone by 61 runs at Gulshan Youth Club Ground on Saturday. NTTN (Nationwide Telecommunication Transmission Network) operator Fiber @ Home organized the league.
Grameenphone won the toss and opted to bowl first in final match. Losing the toss Banglalink batted first and collected 170 runs. Ashraful Alam Riyadh of Banglalink scored highest 78 runs for his team and clinched the man of the match trophy. Chasing 171 runs for victory Grameenphone got all out for 109 runs.
Dhaka North City Corporation Mayor Annisul Huq handed over the Champion and Runner up trophies to Banglalink and Grameenphone captains respectively. State Minister for Posts and Telecom Division Tarana Halim MP, Managing Director of Fiber @ Home Moynul Haque Siddiqui, DMD of Fiber @Home Rafiqul Alam and Head of Regulatory, Government and Public Relation Abbas Faruque were present at prize giving ceremony of the final match.
Tarana Halim MP, State Minister for Posts and Telecom Division said on the occasion, “Sports is good for physical and mental health. This kind of cricket match play an important role to eliminate mental fatigue and job stress.”
