Bangladesh hope of playing final of the 1st SAFF U-19 Championship vanished into blue as they defeated by India in a sudden death in the second semifinal held on Thursday at the ANFA Complex at Saldobato in Lalitpur, Nepal. The day’s defeat mean India will play the final against host Nepal on Saturday (Aug.29) at the same venue at 3 pm (local time). The match was headed towards the spot kick battle after both the teams played 0-0 goalless in the stipulated time. The normal spot kick battle also ended 3-3 that forced the match to sudden death.Earlier, in the day’s first semifinal, Nepal confirmed their last four berth beating Afghanistan by 3-2 goals held at the same venue. SAFF president Kazi M Salahuddin witnessed the day’s semifinal sitting at the stadium.
