Bangladeshis in NY to observe Int’l Mother Language Day

Bangladeshi expatriates in New York (NY) will observe the International Mother Language Day on February 21 in a befitting manner through various programmes.
Muktadhara Foundation and Bangaleer Chetona Manch have drawn up the programme – which included placing of wreaths at a makeshift Shaheed Minar in front of the United Nations Headquarters complex in New York at the zero hours (Bangladesh Time) and (USA Time) 1pm on that day like the previous years.
Biswajit Saha, one of the organizers said all preparations have already been taken to observe the Amar Ekushey programmes. A seven-day book fair will begin on February 21 at Jackson Heights in New York. Dr Abedin Kader will inaugurate the Book Fair. Discussion, recitation of poems will be held at the Book Fair.
