Bangladeshi shot dead by BSF in Joypurhat

UNB, Joypurhat :
A Bangladeshi man was shot to death by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) members on Hatkhola frontier in Panchbibi upazila early Monday.
The deceased was identified as Jony, 20, son of Anwar Hossain of Shreemantapur village in the upazila.
Commanding officer Lieutenant Colonel M Abdur Razzak Tarafdar of BGB battalion 3 told UNB that the BSF troops opened fire on Jony when he entered the Indian territory through the pillar no-280 for bringing cattle at 4:00am, leaving him injured.
Jony died on way to Balurghat Hospital in India.
On information, BGB sent a letter to BSF for a flag meeting. BSF agreed to return the body to Bangladesh after post-mortem at about 12:00pm. A tense situation has been prevailing along the border following the incident.
