Bangladeshi shot dead by BSF

A Bangladeshi farmer was gunned down and another wounded with bullet by members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) along the Ochintopur border of Birampur upazila on Monday morning.
The deceased was identified as Mohammad Nazrul Islam, 40, son of Abdul Goni, resident of Chapla village of the upazila.
Witnesses said BSF members opened fire at them while they were sowing paddy in a field of the area around 10am, leaving Nazrul dead on the spot and another wounded with bullet.
BSF also picked up another BD national from the area.
Lt Col Jahidur Rashid, commanding officer of Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) Battalion 30, confirmed the incident and said that a letter has been sent to the BSF asking for a flag meeting.
