Bangladeshi shot dead by BSF

A Bangladeshi young man was shot to death by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) members on Korea border in Panchbibi upazila early Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Raju Mia, 25, son of Shahidul Islam of Nandail village in the upazila.
Commanding officer Lieutenant Colonel M Abdur Razzak Tarafdar of BGB battalion 3 told UNB
that the BSF troops from Mathurapur camp opened fire on a group of Bangladeshi men, including Raju, when he along with other associates entered the Indian territory through the pillar no-278/58 for bringing cattle at 3:30am, leaving him dead on the spot.
Other associates of Raju, however, escaped from the BSF firing. The body of Raju was still with the BSF members, said Abdur Razzak Tarafdar.
On information, BGB asked BSF to return the body of the young man. A tense situation was prevailing along the border following the incident.
