Bangladeshi poet’s book published in Arabic from Egypt

Kayan Publishing House, a renowned publishing house of Egypt, has published an anthology of 125 poems, written by the famous Bangladeshi Poet Dr Kamal Chowdhury, in Arabic language.
The poems, originally in Bangla language, was translated into Arabic by a celebrated Palestinian scholar based in Paris, France, said a press release.
The anthology of poems was published on the occasion of the International Book Fair being held from January 26 to February 7 in Egypt International Exhibition Center (EIEC) in New Cairo.
The book remains in display and on sell in Hall-1 Stall-A29 in the ongoing Cairo International Book Fair.
Bangladesh Ambassador to Egypt Monirul Islam was presented copies of the book entitled Qasayid Mukhtara of Dr Kamal Chowdhury by the publishers while he was visiting the stall, reports BSS.
Interested Arabic-knowing persons who wish to learn about the contemporary Bangladeshi poetry may collect a copy of this rare publication.
A total of 51 countries including Nigeria, South Africa, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Japan, India, Bangladesh, Russia, China, France, Germany, Britain, Spain, Italy, Belgium, Sweden, America, Egypt and Arab countries participated in this fair.
Notably, this is the first time a Bangladeshi poet has published his poems in Arabic language from the Arab World in cooperation with Bangladesh Embassy in Cairo, Egypt.
