Bangladeshi hurt in BSF firing

A Bangladeshi youth was shot and injured by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) at Nagarbhita border in Baliadangi upazila on Saturday.
The injured was identified as Qurban Ali, 30, son of Pashirul Islam of Momensinghpara village in the upazila.
BGB and local sources, said a BSF patrol team fired gun shots targeting two Bangladeshis, including Qurban, while fishing in the Nagar river near 377/3 No border pillar around 1:30 pm, leaving Qurban injured.
However, his companion escape unhurt. Later, rescued by locals, injured Qurban was admitted to the Sadar Hospital. Confirming the incident, Lt Col Kamal Ahmed, commanding officer of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) -30 battalion in Thakurgaon, said they already sent a protest letter to their Indian counterpart.
