A Bangladeshi national was held by the Petrapole customs on Indian side along with some 20 pieces of gold bars searching his body on Tuesday morning. The arrested is Abdus Salam, 47 of Baligonj village under Munshigonj sadar upazila. Confirming the information, Lieutenant Colonel Ariful Hoque, commanding officer, 49 Border Guard Battalion told that the Petrapole customs on Indian side arrested the Bangladeshi passport holder and seized a total of 20 pieces of gold bars. ‘
The arrested is a government official,’ the BGB CO added. He was quizzing till filing of the report.
