A Bangladeshi female police official was killed in a road crash in Congo on Monday during her visit to a UN peacekeeping mission there. Sources at the Police Headquarters here said Begum Rowshan Ara, Rector of Bangladesh Police Staff College and Additional Inspector General of Police, died in the road accident at Kinshasha in the morning.
She was killed following a collision between a civilian lorry and the vehicle carrying her and others on the way to the Medal Parade of Bangladesh Police Unit (BANFPU).
Rowshan Ara began her career in the police force in February 1988 and served in various capacities, including Assistant Police Commissioner of the Accounts Section, Reserve Office, Traffic Division and Training Unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
