Bangladeshi-American rapper Anik Khan wins Webby Award

Anik Khan, a Bangladeshi-American rapper has won Webby Award for the first time as a Bangladesh-borne artist. The rapper won the “People’s Voice Winner’ for his PBS documentary – Anik Khan: Street Level – under the video category for Music.
Anik was competing with noted music artist Teyana Taylor to win the coveted award. He posted the news on his Instagram account and thanked his fans for the support.
The rapper said, “With nearly 13,500 entries from US & 70+ countries-
a documentary about a Bengali kid from Queens won. Today’s one of the few days I feel seen, not only for myself, but for my community.”
