Bangladeshi-American Omar Ishrak new board chairman of Intel

Staff Reporter:Omar Ishrak, a Bangladeshi-American has been appointed as Chairman of the Board of the American technology giant Intel.
Omar was serving as company Director of the world famous technology giant.
Omar Ishrak replaces Andy Bryant, who is stepping down after seven years at the helm, amid a growing crisis in Intel’s supply chain that has seen shortages in the company’s line of processors.
In a statement the company said that the appointment was effective immediately.
As of yesterday, 64-year-old Omar served as the CEO of Medtronic, a medical technology company headquartered in the US. He will step down from that role to join the intel.
He grew up in Bangladesh, and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of London, King’s College.
Omar is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Asia Society, a leading educational organisation dedicated to promoting mutual understanding and strengthening partnerships among peoples, leaders and institutions of Asia and the United States in a global context.The Medtronic website stated it.
