Bangladesh will face Zimbabwe in the first One Day International (ODI) match at Harare Sports Club Ground in Zimbabwe today. The match will begin at 1.15pm (Bangladesh Standard Time). Private satellite sports channel T Sports will telecast the match live.
Before today’s match, Bangladesh faced Zimbabwe in 78 ODI matches. Of them, Bangladesh registered 50 victories, while Zimbabwe won in 28 games.
It may be mentioned that before today’s ODI match, Bangladesh played three T20I matches against Zimbabwe at the same venue recently. Bangladesh lost to Zimbabwe by 2-1 in the three-match T20I series. Team Director of Bangladesh Cricket team Khaled Mahmud Sujon said, ” It was disgraceful for our team to lost to Zimbabwe in the T20I series. The players are responsible for this shameful defeat. Most of the cricketers failed to take risk. They were showed their performance to retain themselves in the squad.”
Khaled said, ” I did not expect that our team could lose to them. We are better side than Zimbabwe. I think the defeat brought insult for our team.” He said, ” When our batters needed 10 to 12 runs in every over, our batters score six to seven runs. None tried to hit a sixer in a over. Everybody played for single or double runs in a over. Everybody played to retain his place in the squad.”
