Bangladesh finished runners-up in the 1st Jurkhane Wrestling Palowani Championship that concluded on Saturday last in the Nepalese capital of Kathmandu.
Bangladesh secured total of nine medals including two gold medals. Sharat Chandar of Bangladesh won gold in the individual kabade event while Sirajul Islam secured gold in the -70 kg weight category in the individual event.
Afghanistan emerged champions and host Nepal become third while Sri Lanka finished fourth in the championship. Apart from Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, The Maldives and host Nepal took part in the two-day championship.
