Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team left the city on Tuesday for Incheon of South Korea to take part in the Cricket Competition of 17th Asian Games.
Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team became runners-up in the Asian Games 2010.
Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team will directly take part in the quarterfinal of the Asian Games 2014. Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team will face the champions of Group D. China, Malaysia, Nepal have been billed in Group D.
Captain of Bangladesh Women’s Cricket team Salma Khatun said, “We did not get favour from luck in the last Asiad. This time we have a good preparation. We are going to South Korea with a good preparation to clinch the gold medal. We will try our level best to gain the gold.”
Salma said, “Our bowling side is good. We worked hard to improve our batting. Our teammates have improved a lot in batting.”
Salma is not worried about her opponents. This time Pakistan and Sri Lanka will compete in the Cricket Competition of 17th Asian Games.
Salma said, “Sri Lanka tasted defeat to us in the last encounter. In the last Twenty20 World Cup, We won over Sri Lanka. If we can win in the quarterfinal, we will face Sri Lanka in the semifinal. We have taken preparation to face Sri Lanka.”
