Bangladesh Women’s Cricket Team’s will leave the capital for Northern Ireland on Sept 2 to play two T20 Internationals and two ODI matches against the Irish Women’s.
Cricket Ireland confirmed tour recently after the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and Cricket Ireland have agreed to a slight shortening of the tour, said a BCB media release on Sunday.
Bangladeshi Women’s Cricket team will start their campaign in Ireland taking on host Irish side in the first T20 internationals on September 05 at the Bready Cricket Club in Londonderry.
The 2nd T201 between two teams will be held on September 6, followed by two ODIs on September 8 and 10. All matches will be held at the Bready Cricket Club in Londonderry.
BCB CEO Nizam Uddin Chowdhury said tour will be an excellent opportunity for the cricketers to test themselves against fellow World Cup hopefuls:
“I want to thank Cricket Ireland for the tour arrangements. Taking logistic and operational convenience into consideration we had to shorten the duration of the tour and Cricket Ireland deserves a lot of credit for accommodating the BCB’s request and making the necessary adjustments within a short time,” he said.
“Our cricketers will be greatly benefited from the experience of playing in conditions that are not familiar to them,” he added.
Bangladesh and Ireland are rapidly developing teams and both are on a mission to qualify for the ICC Women’s World Cup. This will be very good preparation ahead of qualifiers in Thailand next year, he said.
