Bangladesh Women’s team registered a 54-run win against UAE in their warm-up match ahead of the Women’s T20 World Cup at Sheikh Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi, Abu Dhabi
Defending 126, pacers Lata Mondol and Fahima Khatun scalped three wickets each for Bangladesh to restrict UAE to 70-9 in 20 overs.
Opener Theertha Satish top-scored with 19 runs and Esha Rohit (15) Kavisha Kumari (11) were the next high-scorer for UAE. Lata returned a career-best figure of three wickets conceding four runs in two overs.
Opting to bat first, Bangladesh lost opener Shamima Sultana (1) early, then Murshida Khatun and skipper Nigar Sultana piled up a 57-run stand to rescue the team from initial blow.
Murshida departed on 33 off 28, Nigar scored 25 off 25 with four boundaries. Sobhana Mostary stood the highest run-getter for Tigress, scoring 38 in 32 deliveries which featured five boundaries.
