Bangladesh win silver medal in women’s compound division

Bangladesh women’s archery team earned silver medal in compound division of the Asia Cup-World Ranking Tournament Stage-2 losing the final to Chinese Taipei by 219-224 score held in Bangkok on Saturday.
Bangladesh women’s compound archer team comprising Roksana Akhter, Susmita Bonik and Bonnya Akhter reached the quarterfinal eliminating Vietnam 225-211 in elimination round while arrived at semifinal beating Indonesia 227-223 and advanced to the final defeating Myanmar 225-218 score.
Earlier, another Bangladesh archer Shymoli Roy clinched bronze medal in the Women’s singles reserve division beating Nicole Marie of the Philippines by 6-4 sets in Bangkok on Friday.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh Unified women’s team emerged joint champions and Bangladesh unified men’s team finished runners-up in the Floor Hockey of the just concluded Special Olympics Winter World Games held in Graz, Austria
President of Bangladesh Olympic Association (BOA) General Abu Belal Muhammad Shafiul Huq, also Chief of Army Staff, and its Secretary General Syed Shahed Reza congratulated Bangladesh Archery team and Bangladesh Special Olympics Unified team for their feat in the two international meets
Bangladesh team is expected to return home today (Sunday).
