Bangladesh Women Cricket team whitewashed visiting Zimbabwe Women Cricket team in their two-match T20I series crushing them by 8 wickets in the 2nd match at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar on Thursday.
Bangladesh chased an easy target of 70 runs to set the win in the day’s match as the Zimbabwean scored a meager 69/6 in 20 overs.
Bangladesh played 11.5 overs and lost two wickets for the winning score of 70 runs riding on the 2nd wicket stand of 39 runs in 7.1 overs between Ayasha Rahman and Shaila Sharmin.
Ayasha-Shaila pair carried the team total to 51 for 2 in 8.5 overs from 12 for 1 in 1.4 overs, before Ayasha was trapped lbw off a Christabel Chatonzwa bowling.
Ayasha scored the highest 28 runs off 31 balls with one four and two sixes while Shaila added unbeaten 23 off 26 balls involving two fours.
Rumana Ahmed was the other double figure scorer for Bangladesh with unbeaten 12 off 10 balls including two fours.
Christabel Chatonzwa and Precious Marange took one wicket each for 15 and 18 runs respectively in 3 and 4 overs.
Earlier, sent into bat first, the Zimbabwe posted a diminutive 70 runs target against the hosts with the 6th wicket stand for 33 in 5.3 overs between Sharne Mayers and Precious Marange.
S Mayers scored run-a-ball 21 with a four while P Marange (16 off 18b; 2×4) was the other double figure scorer for the visitors.
Jahanara Alam bagged 3 wickets for 11 runs in 4 overs and was adjudged player of the match.
Panna Ghosh and Rumana Ahmed took one wicket each for 9 and 12 runs respectively in 4 and 2 overs.
Bangladesh defeated the Zimbabwean by 35 runs in the first match at the same venue on Tuesday.
The Zimbabweans will depart for home on Friday (November 20) completing their week-long tour to Bangladesh.
