Bangladesh Under-23 Cricket team made a sensational tie with Pakistan Under-23 Cricket team in their Group-B match of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) Emerging Teams Cup at the Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox’s Bazar on Thursday.
Electing to bat first, Pakistan scored a fighting total of 233 for the loss of eight wickets in the stipulated 50 overs.
In reply, Bangladesh made 233 for the loss of eight wickets in 50 overs.
Bangladesh made a sorrow start losing two wickets for 24 runs.
Then Mominul Haque and Nazmul Hossain Shanto contributed together 63 runs for the third wicket partnership before Nazmul Hossain Shanto was caught by Zafar Gohar off Hussain Talat when Bangladesh’s total was 87 for the loss of three wickets.
Mominul Haque hit a captain’s knock of 75. His 91-ball innings was ornamented with eight fours and a six.
Mominul Haque and wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Mithun built another worthy partnership. They put on together 73 runs for the fifth wicket stand before Mominul Haque was bowled out by Hussain Talat when the team’s total was 183 for the loss of five wickets.
Mohammad Mithun hit a marvellous 53. His 68-ball knock was belted with four fours and a sixer.
Nazmul Hossain Shanto made 30 from 43 balls featuring three fours.
Zafar Gohar, Hussain Talat, Usama Mir bagged a pair of wickets each at the cost of 40, 41 and 58 runs respectively.
Bilal Asif and Ghulam Mudassar took one wicket each for 30 runs each.
Earlier, Haris Sohail of Pakistan knocked a sedate 63. His 107-ball innings was studded with two fours and two sixes.
Hussain Talat remained unbeaten with 57. His 46-ball innings was laced with seven fours. He was adjudged the Man of the Match for his all-round performance.
Hammad Azam scored 30 runs.
Mohammad Saifuddin grabbed three wickets instead of 54 runs, while Abul Hasan, Nasum Ahmed bagged a couple of wickets each for 40 and 57 runs respectively.
Besides, Nayeem Hasan took one wicket at the cost of 30 runs.
