Nayeem Hasan’s five-wicket went to vain as Bangladesh U-19 team showed again another dismal performance when they suffered a 45-run defeat to visiting Afghanistan team in the fourth youth ODI
of the five-match series held on Wednesday at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.

Mahidul Islam Bhuiyan (43) and Nayeem Hasan (30) were the two batsmen who able to reach the double figure as the host lost wickets in regular intervals in the face of tight bowling display by the Afghan bowlers, especially Mujeeb Ur Rahman who caused the major damage for Bangladesh taking seven wickets for 19 runs. He was well supported by Qais Ahmad Kamawal who captured two wickets giving away 22 runs.
Earlier, being forced to bat first by Bangladesh, Afghanistan faced early batting collapse and they cheaply dismissed at 133 in 45 overs with Nisarullah Wahdat top scored 53 runs.
Apart from Nayeem Islam’s five for 38 runs, Saif Hasan grabbed three for 7 while Hasan Mahmud took two for 25.
