Bangladesh Under-19 Cricket team crushed Zimbabwe Under-19 Cricket team by 155 runs, according to Duckworth/ Lewis Method in a rain-interrupted warm-up match at Saint Kitts in West Indies on Tuesday.
Electing to bat first, Bangladesh piled up a satisfactory 277 runs in 49.5 overs.
Later, the Zimbabwean innings was interrupted by rain and Zimbabwe had a revised target of 256 runs to win in 50 overs. Zimbabwe were bundled out for 110 off 35.2 overs and conceded a massive defeat.
Bangladesh lost their early two wickets for 23 runs.
Opener Ariful Islam and second-down Aich Mollah contributed together 61 runs in the third wicket stand before Ariful Islam was trapped leg before wicket by Connor Mitchell when Bangladesh’s score was 84 for the loss of three wickets.
Aich Mollah top-scored with 82 runs. His run-a-ball innings had five fours and three sixes.
Ariful Islam hit a polish 40. His 52-ball innings was belted with three fours and a sixer.
After Ariful’s dismissal, Aich Mollah and Mohammad Fahim put on together 81 runs in the fourth wicket stand before Mohammad Fahim was out when Bangladesh’s total was 165 for the loss of four wickets.
Fahim made 33 from 38 balls featuring four fours.
Second-down Aich Mollah was out when Bangladesh’s score was 183 for the loss of five wickets.
Tanzim Ahsan Sakib (2) was out when Bangladesh’s total was 189 for the loss of seven wickets.
Seventh-down Abdullah Al Mamun (6) was out for six runs when Bangladesh’s score was 200 for the loss of eight wickets.
Rakibul Hasan and Ripon Mondol contributed together 74 runs for the ninth wicket partnership before Rakibul Hasan was run out when Bangladesh’s total was 274 for the loss of nine wickets.
Ripon Mondol was bowled out by Alex Falao when Bangladesh’s innings came to an end.
Ripon Mondol hit a fine 39. His 26-ball innings was decorated with four fours and a six.
Rakibul Hasan made 36 from 45 balls including three fours and a sixer. Connor Mitchell claimed four wickets at the cost of 30 runs, while Matthew Schonken bagged two wickets in the space of 48 runs.
Later, Steven Saul was the only batter of Zimbabwe who made a respectable score. He hit 39 from 45 balls featuring five fours and a sixer.
Naimur Rahman grabbed three wickets at the cost of 18 runs, while Ariful Islam and Abdullah Al Mamun bagged two wickets each instead of 6 and 15 runs respectively.
Mushfik Hasan, Ripon Mondol and Tanzim Hasan Sakib took one wicket apiece.
